The Y2/X1 film capacitors of the R41P series consist of a metallized polypropylene film encapsulated in self-extinguishing resin. As a result, the housing fulfills the requirements of flammability class UL 94 V-0.
They are suitable for use in an operating temperature range from -40 °C to +125 °C, whereby the operating temperature is defined as follows: Ambient temperature + self-heating + temperature rise due to heat radiation from other heat sources. The cumulative operating time of the R41P at +125 °C can be up to 500 hours, with a capacitance drift of less than 10 % - at an operating temperature of 85 °C, the capacitors deliver up to 100,000 hours.
For optimum functionality, the manufacturer recommends applying a nominal voltage (VR) of 300 VAC (50/60 Hz) and a DC voltage of 1,200 VDC. Both the maximum DC and RMS AC voltage (50/60 Hz) and the peak value of a pulse voltage can be continuously applied to a capacitor at any temperature between the lower category temperature and the nominal temperature.
