The capacitor consists of a rectangular block of ceramic dielectric containing a series of nested metal electrodes. This structure results in a high capacitance per unit volume. The inner electrodes are connected to the two end terminals and finally covered with a layer of plated tin (NiSn). The terminals are lead-free. The components are available in three different package sizes with a wide range of possible variations:
- 1808 (4.5 mm +0.6/0.9 mm / -0.3 mm (L) x 2.0 mm ±0.3/0.4 mm (W) x 1.25/1.6/2.0 mm ±0.2 mm (T))
- 2211 (5.7 mm ±0.4/0.5 mm (L) x 2.8 mm ±0.3/0.4 mm (W) x 1.6/2.0/2.5/2.8 mm ±0.2/0.3 mm (T))
- 2220 (5.7 mm ±0.4/0.5 mm (L) x 5.0 mm ±0.4 mm (B) x 2.0/2.5/2.8 mm ±0.2/0.3 mm (T))
