Wi-Fi 6 – why Wi-Fi 6 is the “Wi-Fi for IOT” upgrade
Nick Wood - Sales and Marketing Director Insight SiP
Heike Kubisch - Corporate Product Manager Rutronik
Most previous Wi-Fi standards upgrades have been about increased speed – often close to an order of magnitude with each generation. Wi-Fi 6 by contrast, whilst offering some modest faster speed potential, is mainly concerned with more efficient spectrum use and lower power consumption end devices. To put this in less technical terms, this means support for dense networks with each device having more limited data requirements and the possibility of battery powered operation – a classic “IOT” type requirement.
This webinar explains the key changes in the Wi-Fi 6 specification and specifically how they support IOT application scenarios.
